It’s hard to believe that this poem was written by Brodsky when he was barely 16 of age. The music was composed for the film “Brodsky’s Case” later, in the so called perestroika time.
Valeri Brovko – Joseph Brodsky
Stansy
Here is one more beautiful song written by the same authors.
Georgi Sviridov – Fyodor Sologub
Vast Sadness
It’s hard to believe that when writing these words in 1902 Sologub foresaw all the terrible things that were in store for us. And it was master of choir singing Sviridov who made this feeling understandable for all those who are able to hear.
Georgi Sviridov – Robert Burns
Honest Poorness
Humour, contempt for injustice and banality, strong belief in oneself, in well doing and intellect blend in with the wonderful verses, unsurpassable translation and marvelous music. Brilliant performance :) and a bad recording.
